WELFARE & SUPPORT

We understand that many LGBTQ+ athletes feel ostracised from sport and are keen to support all of our players, opposition, supporters and officials to feel supported, safe and able to enjoy sport.

On this page you can find a series of resources that may help you, as well as an Incident Reporting form.

Check out our Pride Forever manifesto, created in collaboration with Camden Capybraras Lacrosse club

We have launched an Ally Club network for Rainbow Rex players, officials and fans, find out more here.

We support all players, officials, fans and coaches with our Welfare Policy which you can read here

Welfare & Support: About

UNIVERSITY

All Universities have an LGBTQ+ forum. They will be present at Fresher Fairs, have contact details on the University website and on the club boards. Search on social media for your local University LGBTQ+ forum as they will regularly post details of future events and meet ups. It’s a great way to meet new people and most forums will also offer an alumni too for people to keep in contact after University life.

LOCAL  PRIDES

Prides are becoming more common. This is a celebration of all things LGBTQ+ and how far we have come. This is for people of all ages to enjoy and everyone is invited. Find out where your nearest Pride event is and go along to be educated, meet new people and celebrate.

YOUTH GROUPS

LGBTQ+ youth groups are around everywhere. These groups help to support young people (usually from secondary school age) and their sexuality/identity. They offer support, mentoring, advice and just a safe place for young people to meet. Use the stonewall website to search in your area your nearest youth group or ask your pastoral team at school for contact details.
